Seasonal Work
Seasonal workers are highly valued members of our team. Work changes according to the seasons and can involve winter pruning, picking flowers, through to thinning fruit. See our FAQs for more on what's happening at different times of year.
Gaining valuable experience across multiple aspects of growing kiwifruit can open up exciting career paths, whether you are here for the short term or the long haul.
If you are fit, motivated, and enjoy working outdoors, come and join our friendly team! We provide on the job training with our experienced supervisors, so no previous experience is necessary.
A regular week is Monday to Friday — but as most jobs are weather dependant, weekends are sometimes used to replace rainy week days.
Permanent Positions
Our permanent staff (many of whom have been with us for over 15 years) have developed a range of skills that they use to manage all aspects of growing kiwifruit, such as vine management, tractor driving, and canopy maintenance. They take pride in producing fruit to export to the world under the Zespri umbrella.
Our focus is in growing a quality crop from a highly productive and sustainable orchard. To do this we need skilled and dedicated staff.
We are looking for people who wish to stay longer term and who share our values of excellence and teamwork. We offer competitive packages, and actively invest in your training to help create career opportunities for you, with us or within the industry.
Summer Internships
We support university students to gain practical experience in the kiwifruit industry to improve their technical knowledge and skills during their holidays.
This programme is best suited to horticultural & agricultural science and agribusiness students who want to fulfil the practical work requirements of their degrees. Students benefit from the applicable experience learned and create relationships with those in the industry as well as gaining referees for the future.
Our summer internship programme runs from November to February. Apply now!
Remuneration
We pride ourselves on fair and transparent pay - with a range of pay depending on the task.
Hourly. Most tasks will be paid hourly + 8% holiday pay.
Hourly+Bonus. Some tasks are paid hourly, with an added bonus after the task is completed if targets have been met. The bonus will vary, but can be up to $2.50 per hour.
